This workshop is recommended for women who have body pain, body-image concerns,
or feel that taking a beginning belly dance class will go too fast for them.
Get ready to belly dance and have fun without having to hold back.
**This is different than the usual beginning belly dance class.
This workshop focuses on everything you need BEFORE you take your first class
so that way you feel prepared and not left behind.
Here's what we'll cover in the workshop with a light-hearted approach!
-Everything you need to know to start learning belly dance, starting from the ground up:
- posture
- weight change and body positioning
- how to feel your body move versus feeling awkward and uncontrolled
- the difference between pain and unused muscles
- when to rest and when to keep going
-Get familiar with the basics of belly dance:
- hip movements
- feet placements
- arm poses
- head positioning
- a couple of signature belly dance moves
-Learn how to manage the concerns that you have like:
- how to belly dance with back pain
- what to do if you have foot/ankle fatigue
- if you have low stamina
- if you feel like you will be judged for the way you look (age, body type, body size, etc.)
- feeling as if you're the last person in the room to 'get it'
-How to get comfortable with learning belly dance online:
- how to get the most out of learning at home
- how to set up your space in order to take class and/or practice
- why learning at home can be better than going in person
- why you don't need to be tech savy at all to take classes.
-We'll put on some fun and catchy music and start putting your new body tools to use!

👉🏼 How long do I have to view the recording?
The recording will be up after the live class for 2 weeks.
👉🏼 What if I can't make the live class but want to view the recording?
You can still sign up for the class above and will be notified when the recording comes out. Easy peasy!
👉🏼 When is the last day to register for the class?
Registration closes at 1030am PST, September 21st.
👉🏼 I have chronic pain or an acute injury, should I belly dance?
If you have been medically cleared by your professional medical team to do so, then yes. Although belly dance is super adaptable to different bodies and different needs, it may not be right for some people.
