“I’m Tired” Isn’t the Whole Truth—Here’s What to Say Instead

Apr 30, 2025

Hey there, I’m Samantha Karim—Your Bold Bitch Coach.

Let’s dive into something that’s keeping way too many high-achieving women stuck:

That little phrase we say all the time...

"I'm tired."

Sounds harmless, right? But it comes with a lot of baggage.

When you tell yourself “I’m tired,” it often becomes an all-purpose excuse. It justifies giving up. It validates procrastination. It lets you avoid the hard thing without really naming what’s going on underneath.

The truth is: “I’m tired” is too vague for the life you’re building. It’s a blanket statement that doesn’t give you any insight—or power.

So what should you do instead?

👉🏼 Get Clear on What Kind of Tired You Are

There’s a huge difference between physical tiredness and mental fatigue.

If you don’t know which one you’re dealing with, you can’t give yourself what you actually need.

  • Physical tiredness is in your body.
  • Mental fatigue is in your mind - stress, indecision, overwhelm.

Each one needs a different kind of care.

Which brings us to the next step...

👉🏼 Match the Solution to the Type of Fatigue

Let’s break this down:

 -> If you're physically tired:

you need physical solutions.

That means rest and relaxation - real, replenishing rest. Not just scrolling on your phone and calling it a break.

Make a Rest + Recharge List:

  • What activities refill your energy tank?

  • What feels restorative to your body?

  • What would leave you feeling refreshed and capable again?

Write it down. Then actually do those things. Your energy is worth protecting.

-> If you're mentally tired:

You need mental solutions.
Coaching. Decision-making. Prioritization. Not avoidance.

Avoidance doesn’t solve overwhelm. In fact, the stress just waits for you until you come back. (Rude, right?)

Here’s what does help:

  • Accept that you can’t do everything at once.

  • Pick one thing.

  • Do it.

  • Then move on to the next.

Make peace with the fact that your list might roll over into tomorrow. Most of ours do. That’s not failure—that’s life. Don’t make it a problem.

End the Day Empowered, Not Drained

Even after a full day, you might be physically tired. But you no longer have to be mentally exhausted.

That’s what I want for you—and it’s exactly what we’re diving into in my upcoming 90-day Coaching Journey! "The Unapologetic Woman"
